Programme ExamplesLeading Teams for Improved PerformancePurposeTo improve the team leading competence of 6 managers whose teams are engaged in tackling complex problems and demanding creative solutions - team leadership performance being positively correlated to team performance. ProgrammePhase 1: 2 day workshop on key team leadership processes vital to the effective performance of professional and managerial teams. Leadership processes included - managing conflict & consensus, decision making and encouraging team learning. Role play was used to emphasise key learning points. Phase 2: Personal development activities. Questionnaires, coaching and learning journals used to guide and support participants through the process of embedding new behaviours and techniques into practice. Process Improvement InitiativesPurposeTo improve the effectiveness of process improvement initiatives by targeting improvements activities on key business performance drivers, such a customer satisfaction. For senior managers and department heads. ProgrammePhase 1: 1 day workshop for senior managers, aimed at clarifying the company's business model. A framework was used to guide the identification of objectives and key activities underpinning business performance. Phase 2: 2 day workshop with departmental heads. Day 1 covered the basics of business activity models & frameworks needed to relate department activities & outputs to the larger company business model and business performance. Day 2 mapped activities at a departmental level and matched them to key business model activities. Outcome: greater understanding by managers of what made the business 'tick' and therefore the ability to target improvement initiatives on activities & processes having the greatest impact on business performance. Strategic ChangePurposeTo support a client's implementation of organisational change initiatives through the structured development of middle managers 'management of change' competences. ProgrammeDesigned for 30 middle managers across a range of functions, this programme had two elements: firstly 4 days of knowledge based workshop sessions covering the principal theories, concepts and tools in the fields of strategy and change management; and secondly, a 2 day business simulation residential workshop. 2 Day Residential WorkshopHaving developed an understanding and explored issues of strategy and change management the purpose of the workshops was to embed knowledge based learning and develop the competencies of participants in implementing change management initiatives. The workshop was based around a business simulation exercise with participants working in syndicate groups. Each group had to address a series of task at set intervals throughout the workshop. Findings and proposals were presented, followed by question & answer session and feedback. |
